Learn to weave your own piece of wall art in this one day workshop. Create a tapestry using a frame loom, learn the main techniques for creating shapes, textures and fringes, and how to hang and finish your piece. You will be provided with the equipment and materials necessary, including a wide variety of wools to choose from. There are few rules so the options are endless. All you need is your imagination.
Hand weaving on a simple frame loom is an ancient practice utilised by many cultures to make practical and decorative items. It is slow and tactile and every piece created is unique to the maker. In recent years, there has been renewed interest in using these old methods to create contemporary pieces.
