Brighton Fringe Academy and Speak Up! Act Out! present a fun, impactful 2 hours filled with activities & games from Theatre of the Oppressed
About this Event

Join Angela El-Zeind, artistic director of Speak Up! Act Out! for a fun and insightful two hours exploring the methods and games of Theatre of the Oppressed, and learn how to create a forum theatre perfromance.

This workshop is ideal for both actors and non-actors who are curious about using theatre for social impact. It is essential for practitioners, activists, educators, community workers, and engineers of positive change, who want to learn about creating spaces where activism and theatre can meet.

Forum Theatre is a powerful method which is used in a variety of settings and environments, with its main aim being to engage in conversations about positive social changes. It is a powerful, and dynamic way to initiate open conversation about issues and matters affecting our communities. Using games, storytelling, physical expression, and improvisation, participants will explore stories and themes, which impact their lives, in a warm, fun and well facilitated space. And what is ideal, is that you don't need to have previous experience of drama or theatre, to be involved.
