Introduction to Early Childhood Mental Health (2 Day Conference)
This is a two day conference that will cover some of the basics needed to begin providing good quality mental health services to children birth to 5 and their families. Each class day is PENDING APPROVAL for CEs with the SW and LPC, and LMFT Boards. Completion of both days will be for a total of 12 CEs.
Lunch and snacks/beverages will be provided both days for participants.
Cost: $240 for full conference
Day 1- (6 CEs) Aug. 6, 9am-4pm
Early Childhood Treatment Models -this class will cover the basics, both typical and atypical as well as specific red flags associated with each age range, assessments that can be done with young children and families, age appropriate diagnosis of young children, and some basic evidenced based treatment models for this age range.
Day 2- (6 CEs) Aug. 7, 9am-4pm
Day 2 will cover Basics of the Current Best Evidenced-Based Practices for working with young children and their families and providing mental health treatment. It will cover the basics of the 9 innate Temperament traits and how this affect attachment and relationships as well as working with temperaments in treatment to better co-regulate clients and their families. It will also include the basics of the Connect the Dots model developed in Kentucky to work with young children and families and provide basics on Resiliency characteristics to offset childhood ACES. Participants will be able to practice some of the skills learned during the training and will learn resources for additional support and training that can be obtained for working with families and young children.
