About this Event
Are you seeking to improve your skills in dog-handling as an animal care professional or guardian?
This new six-week class safely gives you exposure to a variety of canine breeds and behaviours while you learn and develop skills in identifying dog body language, how to modify common behavioural issues, and how to train new behaviours using force-free training.
Perfect for groomers, dog-walkers, kennel attendants, and anyone who is passionate about understanding dogs better, in this unique class offering you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with our expert trainers at EHS and interact safely with shelter animals for a one-of-a-kind experience with both classroom and hands-on learning.
By gaining a deeper understanding of force free training methods, you can help facilitate humane, positive human-dog interactions to provide the best possible experience for the dogs you work with.
If you are interested in getting certified as a professional trainer or starting a career with dogs – we recommend the Dog Behaviour and Training Methodology Certificate Program.
This program is for people – do not bring your own dog to class. They will not be admitted as you will be working with animals in our care at EHS.
Please note that applicants must be 18 years of age or older and be in good physical health for this program. EHS requires that all participants wear a face covering or mask during programs and follow the public health policies posted at the shelter.
