About this Event
We'll be hosting the MSA Introduction to Data Science workshop on Saturday, 1st of May 2021 at UoA OGGB3/260-092 10AM - 4PM. In this workshop, we'll be introducing the core Data Science concepts and tools you'll be using in the MSA Data Science stream throughout the programme.
On the day, you will learn about the basics of the Data Science Pipeline. We will cover the foundations of data preprocessing, visualisation, analysis and modelling. Additionally, you will learn to use Jupyter Labs and enlarge your toolkit with fundamental Python libraries for Data Science.
You'll also get the chance to get your hands dirty and apply what you learn during the workshop with student ambassadors available to assist you if you get stuck.
Just a note that this workshop is open to ALL students. You do not have to be in the Data Science stream to attend. We strongly encourage all MSA students who have not covered these topics in the past to attend.
For those of you who can't make it on the day, we'll try our best to get a workshop recording from UoA, though this is not 100% guaranteed due to the potential of recording errors.
We look forward to seeing you there!
