On Thursday, October 10th 2024, the Peoria County Genealogical Society will hold its monthly member meeting at the Peoria Public Library North Branch to hear from Michael Neill, a genealogist and owner of the website “Genealogy Tip of the Day”. Michael will provide an overview to the records typically found in a county courthouse: land, probate, court, and vital records. County courthouse records are a valuable resource for family researchers and genealogists.Michael has been an active genealogical researcher since the early 1980s and has researched his and his children’s families in most states east of the Mississippi River and several European countries. He has lectured nationally on a wide variety of genealogical topics, given day-long seminars, and regularly leads research trips to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and the Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Free and open to the public. No registration needed if attending in person.
