About this Event
Join us for an interactive and upbeat presentation, where participants will develop a foundational understanding of the practice of Conscious Discipline. This presentation will be led by Dinah Schaller, a national trainer for Conscious Discipline, a Michigan ACE Community Champion, and Crim Associate Director of Mindfulness - Youth & Education Sector.
Dinah is helping the Crim integrate these great strategies into the Mindfulness Initiative here in Flint and Genesee County. Conscious Discipline (CD) empowers individuals to be conscious of their own brain-body states and the states of others they interact with daily. CD provides the practical skills needed to manage our thoughts, feelings, and actions to serve our goals through self-regulation. When we self-regulate, we are then able to model and teach others to do the same. By doing this, we help others who may be in the Midstate of the brain integrate this state with their executive state of the brain. This integration enables the use of executive functioning and problem-solving skills. Join Dinah for a deeper understanding of the CD brain state model, brain science, the seven powers and seven skills of CD, to see the importance of building our homes, schools, businesses, and communities on the core principles of CD, safety, connection, and problem-solving.
This presentation was created for groups from a wide range of sectors and backgrounds including community groups, schools, healthcare, and other organizations that want to learn more.
Participants do not need a background or understanding of Conscious Discipline to participate.
Learn about Conscious Discipline, the Brain States, and how they impact our perceptions, decision-making, and ability to self-regulate in demanding and stressful situations. Learn how to integrate into daily life the 7 powers and skills of Conscious Discipline.
