Learn why Catholicism has moved the hearts of so many people from shame, regret and disillusionment, to a hope that is ever born anew. Be inspired by Fr. Mayer’s journey from growing up in an anti-Catholic Church to Catholic priest. Have your spirits lifted and get your tough questions answered among the many misunderstandings that many have of the Catholic Church. Possible topics include Worshiping Saints? Rituals, Guilt, Purgatory, Works vs Faith, Women, LGBTQ.
This evening will be led by Father Mayer, who grew up as a devout Pentecostal and then went on a quest of belief that included secularism and atheism, various forms of Christianity, and then served for a time as an Episcopal Priest before coming into the Catholic Church. He now considers himself to be a happy Catholic. This is a great opportunity to better understand Catholics and to experience an engaging and interactive presentation designed to bring those of various beliefs together in this quest for truth, goodness, and beauty. These workshops tend to be full, so RSVP as soon as possible to assure your spot.
Food & RSVP Deadline: Turkey and roast beef sub sliders from Publix catering, chips, water, soda (need special accommodations? Please ask :-). Space is limited so please let us know to reserve your spot. This also helps us know how much food to order. Please confirm as soon as possible, but no later than August 12, 2024 if you are planning to attend: [email protected] or call or text 904-999-1423.
