Would you like to join Tees Valley Canisports in 2025? We cater for experienced teams as well as total beginners! These sessions are aimed at those new to the sport or those who would like to join our club.Included in the session will be an opportunity to try on specific canicross kit, learn how to warm up yourself and your dog, understand how to teach your dog specific canicross commands like direction changes and running etiquette should you wish to run with others or in public spaces.
You don't need any previous canicross or running experience but it would advisable for you to be able to run 200m at a time as we will be practicing skills in short bursts. We won't leave anyone behind and will be running at a slow and steady pace and have lots of people on hand to support.
Spaces are limited so please make sure you can commit to the session. In the booking form below you can let us know if you need to borrow kit.
Please note your dog must be at least 11 months old to attend. We actively encourage reactive dogs to take part in the sport but please make sure your dog is muzzled (in a pant proof sport style) if it has a bite history/ lunges at other dogs and they will be able to cope with a group environment. We make sure each dog has plenty of space and we don't mind if they are loud or excited. If you want to chat to us about this then please reach out. We have lots of experience with reactive, excited and nervous dogs in our club.
To confirm your place you must complete the form below. We will then email you with exact location details and an overview of what to expect from the session as well as what to bring.
