About this Event
**THIS CLASS IS OPEN TO CURRENT BARNARD GRIFFIN WINE CLUB MEMBERS ONLY! Thank you! **
Perhaps you've seen the Somm documentaries and were astonished and impressed that people could correctly call the country, sub-region, vintage, producer, and sometimes even the exact vineyard of origin for a wine, only by smelling and tasting it. Or, maybe you think blind tasting wine is a lousy party trick. Either way, this class will disclose some of the secrets behind the magic of blind tasting! Join us in July to learn the fundamentals and try your hand at discerning as much as you can about six mystery wines. Don't worry - even the pros are wrong a lot of the time!
This class will be led by Afton Kortz, Barnard Griffin's Wine Club Manager, who holds a Level 3 certification in Wine from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and is a French Wine Scholar.
The class will take place at Barnard Griffin's Vancouver tasting room (665 W Columbia Way
Vancouver, WA 98660) from 6:30pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 17.
- **This class is open to current Barnard Griffin wine club members only, as part of our Wine Club Appreciation Month celebrations! ** There are 20 FREE spots available.
- Tasting-sized pours (approx. 1oz each) of six different wines are included, along with bread & butter and crackers as palate cleansers (attendees must be 21+).
- Wine club members: You can reserve your free tickets directly through Eventbrite, or by emailing Afton at [email protected]. In order to see as many members as possible, we have set a maximum of two tickets per membership (no additional guests). Please reach out if you have any questions!
