Becoming a supervisor can feel like a signigicant and sometimes daunting next step in your social work career. This full - day, interactive workshop provides a practical introduction to supervision and will equip you with the contemporary knowledge, tools, and confidence to provide best-practice, reflective supervision. You'll learn how to create safe, supporting spaces for professional growth while navigating the responsibilities of your role.
A comprehensive learning pack will be provided including relevant literature, tools, and templates to support your ongoing development.

Introduction
Morning Learning Session: (3.5 hrs)
Best practice supervision essentials​
Understanding your role as a supervisor
Managing expectations, risks and deliverables​
Supervision agreements and practical templates
Morning Learning Activities: In this session, participants will engage in small group discussions to share insights and explore themes related to supervision challenges. Each group will brainstorm effective strategies and best practices for addressing specific scenarios while using Interactive polls and surveys.
Afternoon Learning Session: (3.5hrs)
The personal is professional: use of self in supervision
Communicating with purpose and clarity
Managing challenges​ and sustaining your supervision practice
Afternoon Learning Activities: During this session, participants will engage in role-playing scenarios to simulate real-world supervision challenges, as well as role reversal exercises, enabling them to empathise with both supervisor and supervisee dynamics. Additionally showcasing case study examples illustrating effective supervision strategies in action.
