This series is presented by the Brown County Beekeepers Association and is designed to educate new and novice beekeepers.
Prior to January 18, 2025 - watch three videos to prepare you for in class learning. Total time required will be less than 2 hours.
January 18, 2025 (8:00am - 2:30pm Central Time) is a live, in-person presentation at the Great Lakes Energy Education Center on the campus of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Park in parking lot G and use Entrance E2. We are in room E201. Booyah lunch will be provided.
May 17, 2024 (8:00 - 10:00am Central Time)is hands-on, in person learning at a beehive. Scheduled to be at the Green Bay Botanical Garden. Date may change based upon the weather. In person meeting is subject to local, state, and health department guidance.
During the 3 part course, attendees receive an understanding of:
Bee breeds and basic physiology
Bee development timeline and colony cycles
Hive types, basic beekeeping equipment
Hive location, purchasing bees, and their installation
Basic bee diseases, parasites, mites and how to treat them
Personal protection and annual hive maintenance
Networking opportunities with experienced beekeepers
Price: Individual or Head of Family $50 and additional family members $40 each (plus the Event Brite fees).
