About this Event
Introduction to Acrylic Painting
Join International Artist Linda Hollingshead, well known for her friendly, inspirational and enjoyable courses and workshops, for this Introduction to Acrylic Painting.
Acrylic paint is water-based and fast-drying, allowing artists to create beautiful works quickly without the use of potentially harmful thinners. This workshop is designed for beginners or those who wish to revisit the basics of acrylic painting. Linda will walk you step-by-step through the whole process of making a painting from selecting the right brushes and surfaces to how to use your tools and equipment. Through the basic techniques of paint mixing, building layers and composition.
We work from photo reference of simple scenes to gain confidence and understanding of the process and best practice to create a finished piece to be proud of.
There will be a summary and round up of the day with suggestions for continuing on your Acrylic Painting Journey.
Participants will be shown demonstrations and receive guided one-to-one help and advice with opportunities for Q&A’s to achieve best results. There will be plenty of time to practice painting at your own pace.
