Come out and meet Eugene Vango, a prolific artist in his 80s with a wide body of work. Select pieces (acrylic on canvas) will be on display and for sale during this one day event, presenting art collectors with an affordable option to owning their own unique artwork.Eugene Vango was born in Norfolk, and received his BS degree in Art Education from Virginia State University. Starting in 1966, he held various art teacher positions in the Atlanta and the Richmond Public Schools systems, before going on to Penn State University to study for the Master of Fine Arts, which he received in 1972. Vango did further study for five summers at the Art Student League of New York. In 1986, he was appointed head of the Department of Art and Design at Virginia State University, from where he retired in 2003. He has participated in more than 30 one-person shows and 60 group shows, and has won numerous “Best in Show” ribbons on the state and national levels.
