Learn to create decorative designs with a wood burning tool in this beginner friendly class. The ladies of MesijArts will lead you through the steps from design to execution of your very first piece. Learn how to prepare a wooden surface, transfer a design, and use a wood burning tool to create lines and shading on a wooden object.
This class is open to ages 14+.
Supplies Needed:
You will need an unfinished wood object for this project. We recommend an unfinished pine circle or square. Each are great for a decorative sign or tray.
If you purchase a wood object along with your class registration, we will hold it for you until the class date. Just choose Curbside Pickup at checkout, and you won't get a shipping charge.
If you choose to bring your own item to decorate, we recommend something large for beginners, at least 8" across. Wood must be completely unfinished - untreated, with no stains, no paints, or other chemicals applied. The heat from the wood burning tool would release these potentially toxic chemicals into the air.
Craft Habit will provide all other tools & materials for use during class, and tools will be available to purchase after class, so you can keep wood-burning on your own!
Class Policies & COVID procedures:
Properly worn masks are encouraged but not required while inside Craft Habit. We do have masks available should you wish to wear one while spending time with us!
This class requires a minimum of 6 students enrolled, with a maximum of 10. Craft Habit will notify students at least 24 hours in advance if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Students will be fully refunded for any classes cancelled due to low enrollment.
Food and most beverages are not allowed during classes, due to safety concerns. You are welcome to bring water in a container that will not spill if knocked over.
Class registrations are not refundable. If you cannot attend, you may find another person to take your place in a class. Please let us know their name in advance of the class starting.
Classes cancelled by Craft Habit WILL be refunded. We will do our best to reschedule classes, and we will refund class registration fees for any classes that we have to cancel for any reason.
To respect our teachers’ time, please arrive 5 minutes before scheduled class time unless advised otherwise. Late arrivals may miss important information and may not be able to catch up to the class. We cannot issue refunds for late arrivals. Please shop for your class materials in advance!
