Give new life to old clothes in this beginner-friendly weaving class! Bring a piece of clothing you no longer wear, and we’ll show you how to turn it into strips of fabric woven into one-of-a-kind tapestry. If you don’t have a piece of clothing you’d like to upcycle, no problem! We will have clothes that you can choose from for your piece. You’ll learn how to use a frame loom, understand the difference between warp and weft, and even add fun tassels to your piece. We will also go over the necessary terminology and tools needed to become a weaver of your own.Together we will weave sustainable creations while forming new friendships. Each student will receive their own personal loom and a ball of cotton yarn to keep the creativity going at home. No previous weaving experience needed – just bring your curiosity and something to upcycle!
