Join us for an immersive watercolor sketching workshop! Learn how to select materials, understand composition, and work with watercolors.Immerse yourself in the beautiful, productive landscape of AOOA Farm with an introductory workshop on watercolor sketching. This session will focus on getting started, selecting materials, understanding principles of composition, and working with watercolors. Participants will get to make their own watercolor pieces!
No prior experience is necessary. Participants may either bring their own supplies (cold press watercolor paper/sketchbook, basic watercolor palette, watercolor brushes) or purchase an art kit for an additional $5.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, and bring natural sunscreen. A tote bag or backpack for carrying supplies is recommended. You are welcome to bring a sketching stool, though it’s not required as there are many spots to sit.
Light refreshments will be served. Space is limited, please register in advance!

About the instructor: The workshop will be led by Eileen MacAvery Kane, AOOA Artist-in-Residence ‘24 . A Hudson Valley native, Eileen’s work explores the relationships between nature, spirituality, community, and memory.
