Discover more humor in the world while laughing with new friends, too!During this introductory class, students will learn the craft of stand-up comedy while learning about themselves and finding humor in the world around them. Students will experiment with different approaches to joke writing, enabling them to pick and choose the concepts that work best for them. Students will also gain experience in topic selection, set organization, and stage presence—all in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Instructor/stand-up comedian Julie Sandoval will bring out the comedian inside every student!
Julie's step-by-step approach to the art of stand-up comedy will teach students to:
*Overcome performance fear
*Write material
*Create a stand-up set
*Find timing that delivers
*Discover, and play with, stage personas
Practicing stand-up comedy is a great way to improve communication skills, sharpen thinking skills, and boost self-confidence. The course ends with a student showcase.
Start Date: Saturday, January 17
End Date: Saturday, February 21
All classes are 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Third Space Improv in St. Augustine.
Registration: $225 through January 10, then $250
The last day to register is January 16.
