Intro to Stained Glass: Tuesday 3-part Series

In this 3 week series students will learn the basics of stained glass art. This will include design, cutting and shaping of glass, copper foil, installation, and soldering.
Each student will have the choice to create either a sailboat or a hummingbird suncatcher that can be hung in a window.
The class shall include three- 3 hour sessions and a limited 8 students.
Close toed shoes are required.

ALL MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT ARE PROVIDED!
STUDENTS
We welcome all students from beginner to experienced glass artist who may be looking for a refresher course. The class is designed to provide the stepping stones for students, looking to create more complex glass structures. You must be 16 or older to attend without being accompanied by an adult. Any adult chaperoning a class does not need to purchase a ticket if not participating in the class.
INSTRUCTOR
Steve Shapiro originally an Illinois resident moved to the Jasper area four years ago via Hilton Head South Carolina, where he learned the art of Stainglass. A plumber/business owner by trade, started creating Stainglass art eight years ago. As a plumber, working with solder on a daily basis, stain glass art came very easy to him. He enjoys all forms of glass art, including foil, lead came and fused glass. His design ideas come from the world around him, but mostly prefers nature and animals.
