About this Event
Intro to Stained Glass Drawing and Design
If you love the beauty of stained glass and always dreamed of learning to create your own art, this is the perfect opportunity! Join us for a beginner drawing and design class, where you’ll learn the secrets of stained glass as well as get an introduction to drawing in a friendly, supportive environment.
Stained glass has been used to tell stories for centuries, and you will learn how to tell your own stories through the art you create yourself. We’ll explore basic art principles and elements and create a stained glass design as our final masterpiece. Rather than focusing on technical details, we’ll help you discover the emotion inside your art that shapes the tales you tell, using the EMOSY 365 prompt cards for inspiration.
This is not a stained glass building class, but an art class with a stained glass flair. Instead of mixing paint, you’ll learn how glass gets its color. Then learn how to use color to express emotions and ideas in your own projects.
All supplies are included and you’ll learn about:
- Line, shape, color and drawing fundamentals
- Storytelling through art
- How stained glass is made
- The history of stained glass
- An overview of how stained glass windows are made
- How to spot fake stained glass
- Stained glass design principles
- Drawing your own stained glass design
