The Virginia Horse Center Foundation and SWVADA are excited to host a clinic with Robyn Walden. This clinic is free to the public and will be held during the Virginia Commonwealth Games in the Anderson Coliseum Mezzanine. Robyn is a licensed mental health provider and performance coach with lifelong experience in the world of equestrian sports. She provides Mental Performance Coaching services to equestrian athletes of many disciplines including hunter/jumpers, dressage, eventing and western riding. Through performance coaching, she teaches athletes to strengthen and fine tune their mental skills with principles of sport psychology.
Robyn has first hand experience in equestrian sports, having worked as a professional trainer
for many years. Her experience includes competing and developing young show jumping
horses in the US and Europe, training riders, managing, grooming (FEI) and apprenticing within some of the best stables in the world including Laura Kraut (US), Ben and Wim Schroder(NL), Soren von Ronne(GER), Alan Waldman(US/NL) and Steve Meadows (US-AQHA/APHA).
Combining her love of horses with her background in behavioral health and sport psychology, she is able to support athletes in overcoming setbacks, improving confidence and consistency, optimizing emotional well-being, maximizing potential and reaching goals.
Robyn is a part of the Sport Psychology Team with Psychological Health Roanoke, working
closely with mentor, Dr. John Heil, who served as a sport psychology consultant at 3 Olympic Games.
