About this Event
Intro to Spanish Wines – A Flavorful Tour of One of Europe’s Most Dynamic Wine Countries
Spain is home to some of the most exciting wines on the planet—bold reds, bright whites, and bottles made for sharing. But what actually makes Spanish wine so special? In this class, we’ll explore the history, geography, and grape varieties that shape Spain’s wines, from cool, Atlantic-influenced regions to sun-soaked vineyards along the Mediterranean and beyond. Along the way, you’ll get a feel for how tradition and innovation collide to create wines that are both distinctive and incredibly drinkable.
We’ll taste a lineup that shows off Spain’s range—zippy whites, juicy reds, structured classics, and a few under-the-radar favorites—so you can leave with a real sense of the styles and regions worth seeking out.
Class will be led by our friend Diana Schultz, winemaker at Augustina Cellars, whose easygoing, engaging teaching style makes learning about Spanish wine feel relaxed, social, and genuinely fun.
