Intro to Silversmithing: Create Your Own Jewelry, a hands-on course designed for aspiring jewelry makers. Learn the fundamentals of silversmithing in this hands-on course where you will be guided through the essentials of designing with metal, soldering with a torch, bezel setting a stone, sawing, filing, polishing and more! Whether you're a novice or looking to expand your creative skills, this class offers the perfect introduction to the world of silversmithing. By the end of the class, you'll have the skills to create your own stunning sterling silver jewelry with the confidence to continue your silversmithing journey. Students will have the choice to create either one ring or one pendant, which they can take home as a personalized keepsake of their silversmithing experience. During this course students will be provided with resources for where to buy tools, stones to set, bench setup along with tips and tricks that I learned during my silversmithing journey. All general silversmithing materials and tools will be provided for use in class —just bring your creativity!
*Students are required to bring their own N95 face mask or face covering along with a notebook and pen/pencil for making notes. N95 masks may be purchased at Harbor Freight for less than $2. All general materials are included in the cost of the class, including 12 grams of silver. Extra silver will be charged based on market value.
