
About this Event
About the Class: This class focuses on the basics of short-form improv comedy games, as seen in popular shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway? Each class will concentrate on a specific type of short-form game and the skills needed to perform it successfully. The goal of this class is to establish a general understanding of different types of short-form improv games, as well as the skills necessary to succeed in these bite-sized, fast-paced improv scenes!
This class runs of Tuesdays from 7pm to 9:30pm on the following dates: 5/13, 5/20, 5/27, 6/3, 6/10, and 6/17. There will be a class show on Saturday 6/21 at 5pm! To be eligible to participate in the class show, you may miss one (1) of the sessions. The class will be on sale from Monday 3/31 at noon to Sunday 5/11 at noon.
Class Requirements: This class requires students to have completed Lancaster Improv Players Improv 101 Class to take this class. If you have equivalent training, please seek our Artistic Director Approval. You can seek that by emailing this event a question.
About the teacher: Mike Andrews has been a proud performer with the Lancaster Improv Players since 2019. In addition to being a coach and member of current LIP house teams, Mike is also a member of the Lancaster Touring Company. Mike has completed the SAK Comedy Lab class curriculum at the Orlando, FL theatre where Wayne Brady got his start and has taken classes with Comedy Sportz in Philadelphia. As a founding member of multiple independent improv teams, Mike enjoys sharing the joy of improv comedy with new audiences and students of the craft.
Scholarships: Some scholarships are available to partially or fully cover the cost of the stated class fee. For additional information, please reach out to [email protected] with your request at least a week prior to the start date of the class.
Refund Policy: We will not refund any orders after the start of the first session.
Parking: There is street parking around the theater on Prince St, King St, and Vine St, which is not metered after 6pm and not metered Sundays! The parking garages are open. Steinman Garage, Prince St Garage, and Duke St Garage are recommended in that order! On the weekends the garage is $5 for the whole day!
