Restorative or peacemaking circles are a traditional indigenous tribal and community approach to problem solving that focuses on accountability, repairing harm, healing and restoring relationships between parties from harm or wrongdoing. All people in the circle work together to reach a resolution through a collective & collaborative process that allows for dialogue, understanding, and hopefully reconciliation and resolution.
Because people are able to feel heard and gain understanding of one another, the restorative justice process allows for a more compassionate way to address harm and offer healing for all involved.
In this training, you will learn about the history, values and teachings of peacemaking and practice executing the components of the restorative justice process to address wrongdoing or harm.
