Join the Phoenix Society for an introduction on the rapier and sabre. One, a long, point-centric, dueling sword of the European renaissance, and the other, a curved, cut-centric sword used at one point by all the major armies and navies of the world.
If you ever wanted to learn the real, historic fencing that inspired the sword fights in the Pirates of the Caribbean or Zorro films, or the Princess Bride, this is the class for you!
The class will consist of instruction and demos on the rapier, then sabre, followed by the chance to spar your peers using what you've learned!
All experience levels welcome!
Ages 15+.
REQUIRED: athletic attire and closed-toe shoes.
A water bottle is strongly recommended.
All other gear will be provided!
12:30 PM - 3:00 PM.
Please arrive 10-15 min early to fill out safety waiver.
$20 for this 2.5 hr intro class.
