About this Event
In this class, participants will be introduced to foundation paper piecing, which is a quilting method where fabric is sewn onto a paper template. Participants will choose from a few provided block patterns and make one 6-8” quilt block. You will leave with either a completed pot holder, or one block to take home and start a bigger quilt! We will also go over adding batting, top stitching, and bias tape to finish a quilt.
This is a great way to use up your fabric scraps to create beautiful (and practical) art! Minimal sewing experience/knowledge is needed! Participants can opt to bring their own fabric to use (optional) but all materials (incl. fabric) will be provided.
This is primarily a BYOM (Bring Your Own Machine) workshop and limited sewing machines are available. Available sewing machines can be reserved by purchasing a 'Borrow a Machine' ticket. Participants who purchase a BYOM ticket will need to bring a standard sewing machine and all necessary machine accessories to participate (pedal, power cord, bobbin, machine needle).
This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.
