Intro to Psychedelic Beads with DeVeor Rainey and Austin Davenport Grier

We want to learn to be more comfortable in the space between what we can control and what the world dictates. Using our chaotic friends gravity and heat, we are looking to inspire you to create beautiful beads that you would never have dreamed. We will be vortex-ing waste glass, aka shorties, to create a mix of fun colors and catching the molten glass mid-drip, at the perfect unplanned moment.

What to Expect:.You will leave this class feeling a bit more calm in the unplanned chaotic moments of flameworking and of life. Beadmaking requires a little practice at heat control with the torch to create successful beads. Students can anticipate making 2-6 successful pieces in this class, along with some failures, while also refining their skills in translating a specific object into glass. Eligibility: All glass experience levels welcome! Open to ages 12 and up.

Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight then be carefully removed from the mandrels, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work. 

This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration
