Intro to Pottery with David Gillanders

We are delighted to introduce a beginners pottery class in West Dunbartonshire with tutor David Gillanders.

We will spend the intro class making a Matcha style tea cup pinch pot style and a saucer to match. We look at carving and decorating with hand made Hakeme brushes. Participants will explore construction techniques, scoring, marking, decorating, painting and underglazing. Finished work will be fired off-site and returned after several weeks to the library for collection by participants. It's a lot of fun.

This is a small class so there is more time for the tutor to help you create your masterpiece.

David Gillanders is a potter and photographer. Recently he taught pottery at the Art Department in Paisley.
