A few years ago I got into kayaking on flatwater because I wanted to have fun with my friends and our dogs. First, I took an REI class (they are great) to learn how to navigate the kayak on the water myself before ever adding my dog. Then I started to learn how to prepare my dog for water fun. Now you get the benefit of my education and real-life experience.
In this workshop, you will learn:
how to be safe out on the water with your dog
how to teach your dog skills like staying on the board, being lifted onto the board, and more
how to prepare them before ever getting out on the water
what things to have with you and your dog out on the water
It’s important to note I will not be teaching you how to paddleboard or kayak. My area of expertise is how to prepare your dog for joining you on the water. The workshop will take place in our climate-controlled facility. You do NOT need to bring your paddleboard or kayak unless you want to practice on them for the hands-on portion of the training.
The workshop will be 90 minutes with plenty of time for questions.
$75 per working team (with dog)
$25 per auditor (no dog)
***Dogs attending must be comfortable around new dogs and people. I’m open to offering private lessons for dogs who are not appropriate to attend in a group setting.
