About this Event
A māntra is a vibratory tool, which can be invoked mentally or verbally. Its meaning is understood at the level of “experience” rather than “words”. It has the capacity to transform the quality of thought and create a more centered state of mind (ekagrata), enabling “pramana” or “pain-free thinking” as per Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.
Māntras can be used to break stubborn thought patterns and encourage a new line of thinking. There are various “types” of mantras, each delivering a specific impact on our psyche, such as courage, resilience, forgiveness, acceptance, etc.
Māntras have the advantage of propelling shift amidst distraction and disbelief. This means, you don’t need good concentration to reap their benefit nor put much heart into them, making them a great aid in depression (moodha) or anxiety (kshipta).
Join Komal Dadlani, @komi_yogi, as we explore the basics of Māntra Japa Theory, where you will be guided towards selecting and learning how to use a māntra, with key guidelines towards establishing a regular practice.
