Learn to Play Mahjong!
Come join us at Alter Brewing Company for a fun-filled evening of learning how to play the ancient game of Mahjong! In this beginner-friendly lesson, you'll learn the fundamentals of American Mahjong. We will walk you through the Charleston, how to decode the National Mahjong League Card (NMJL) Card, and the steps to creating a winning hand. Come ready to learn, have fun, and discover why Mahjong will be your new favorite hobby!
No experience or equipment needed. We will provide all game materials for use during the lesson and instruction guides to take home.
One beverage of your choice included. The brewery has limited snacks for purchase and you may bring your own snacks as well.
Important things to note:
- Arrive up to a half hour prior to the event to get your drink and get settled. We will start promptly.
- Games will be organized in groups of four. If you're signing up with friends, we'll do our absolute best to seat you together, but due to the nature of the even-numbered gameplay, we can't make any guarantees.
- All ticket sales are final but you may transfer your ticket to a friend - just let us know!
- Only tickets sold through Eventbrite will be honored.
- Please let us know if you are unable to attend so we can make appropriate arrangements since gameplay is dependent on 4 players per table.
