About This Workshop:
Intro to Inversions & Arm Balances: Build Strength, Confidence & Safety Upside-Down workshop designed to help students explore headstands, forearm stand, shoulderstand, and other inversions along with foundational arm balances in a way that is safe, intelligent, and empowering.
Inversions and arm balances are more than impressive poses they are powerful tools for:
- Building deep core, shoulder, and upper-body strength
- Improving coordination, body awareness, and joint stability
- Enhancing focus, resilience, and confidence
- Supporting circulation and lymphatic flow
- Teaching students how to move with control, alignment, and breath
Many students avoid inversions and arm balances out of fear or attempt them without proper preparation, which increases the risk of injury, especially to the neck, shoulders, wrists, and lower back. This workshop is designed to change that by teaching students how to build these poses from the ground up using correct alignment, progressive strength, and clear safety principles.
What the 2-Hour Workshop Includes
- A guided warm-up flow to prepare wrists, shoulders, hips, and spine
- Foundational weight-bearing and arm-balance drills
- Step-by-step progressions for headstand, forearm stand, shoulder stand, and beginner arm balances (crow, tripod, etc.)
- Core, shoulder, and wrist-strengthening techniques
- Wall-assisted and modified options for all levels
- Safe entry, exit, and spotting strategies
- Clear safety guidelines so students know when — and when not — to invert
This workshop is perfect for:
- Students who want to try inversions or arm balances for the first time
- Students who feel fearful, stuck, or unstable in these poses
- Yogis who already practice them but want to refine technique, protect their joints, and build longevity
My goal is for participants to leave feeling stronger, safer, and more confident, not just upside-down or on their hands, but in their entire yoga practice.
I’d love to bring this skill-building, confidence-boosting workshop to Movati studio and support our members in expanding what they believe is possible for their bodies.
