About this Event
Students will work with glass to create unique fine art mosaics. This class is a fun modern twist on an ancient art practice. During this workshop, you will learn the basics of creating a unique glass mosaic. This workshop is designed to be meditative and stress-reducing with students encouraged to go at their own pace.
What you’ll learn:
- Creating a unique design
- Cutting glass and tile for mosaics
- Adhering materials (tesserae)
- Grouting mosaics
Included Materials:
- Stained Glass
- Weldbond Glue
- Wood Panel
- Grout Kit (choice of black or white)
Extras:

Mosaic-making is a *two* step process: the first-step is gluing the tessera to the substrate and the second-step is grouting. During the second half of the class, I will give a *live-demonstration* on how to grout a mosaic so that you can go home and complete your art after 24 hours.
NEW FEATURE: I will be teaching students how to use Tile Nippers and cut their own tesserae! You can bring your own tools but I will have a few available on hand to use during class.
NOTE: Feel free to bring some of your own materials to add to your mosaic! Some potential materials are: broken glassware, pottery, buttons, jewelry, etc. Please keep in mind that the wood panel is 8x8”. Feel to email me if you have any questions about what you can bring!
