Intro to Eco-Flogging : exploring sensation play with nature

Welcome to the wonderful world of eco-flogging, more than the practice of flogging with a sauna whisk, this practice invites all our senses to engage with what the Earth is inviting us to play with. Have you ever felt called to step into the cascading branches of a cedar tree and grab hold of the fronds while breathing in deeply? Perhaps the honeysuckle vines or jasmine flowers have whispered to you as you lingered in the garden by their intoxicating aroma. If you’ve ever felt compelled to interact with nature with more than your eyes, then this practice space will nourish your curiosity and empower you to open to a new world of possibilities.

In this practice space we will cover the basics of flogging, touch on the vihta and venik whisks of Finnish and Russian sauna culture and explore a variety of plants, their poetic, medical and textural qualities. We will touch, smell, feel and play. Exercises based on the wheel of consent will add structure and dimension to our play, as we move through the senses, deepening embodiment, access to pleasure and interconnection with the natural world.

This practice space is open to pleasure enthusiasts of all gender identities and expressions. Bring a friend or make one there. All activities are invitational and you will be encouraged to play at your own pace.
