Join us for an intro to dyeing yarn class! This is a four hour workshop where you will learn the basics of acid dyeing yarn. This will include a lecture and outline of the work we'll be doing, as well as the actual hands-on dyeing. We will focus on tonal or semi-solid colored yarns.
In our class, you will learn
What your dyeing set up should look like
How different protein fibers take dye
How to prep your yarn for dyeing
Some of the nuances of acid dyeing
How to dye yarn safely
A little about color theory and layering!
There will likely be some downtime between adding colors to your dye bath, so we encourage students to bring a knitting, crochet or other project to work on and socialize as we finish our yarns!
