Then distance riding might be for you!Clarity Riding is kicking off our Intro to Distance Riding program with an informational meeting at our farm and virtually on February 2nd at 1 pm. This is the equine version of a couch to 5K.
Our robust eight-week course starts late-February and will prepare you and your horse to ride at Spring Chesapeake CTR on April 27th at Fair Hill in Elkton, MD.
Weekly in-person and virtual practices will cover skills including vetting and judging procedures, conditioning for horse and rider, pacing, trail skills and etiquette, equipment and packing, and more. Practices will take place at Clarity Riding as well as local area parks.
Riders with your own horse and transportation are welcome to join. A limited number of Clarity horses are available for our students. Prior distance riding experience is not necessary but riders should be able to ride confidently at walk/trot/canter, groom and tack independently, and be comfortable to overnight away from home. All breeds are welcome!!
