About this Event
In this fun and supportive class, you will learn the basic concepts and skills for this dance form which explores movement through shared weight, touch, and physical awareness.
Topics will include boundaries and consent, moving from your own center, tuning in to a partner’s center and using many surfaces of your body to take weight. We’ll play with rolling, sliding, suspending, falling and more.
Dance experience is welcome, but not required!
This experience is led by Nina Galin, a lifelong lover of movement. Nina has been learning about Contact Improv for some decades, and teaching it for the last several years. Her movement research includes contemporary dance, somatics and meditation. She has an MFA in dance and a PhD in Performance Studies.
