In this series, students will learn the fundamentals of belly dancing in a supportive and safe space for any BODY. Each class will begin with a brief warm up, then cover basics, including:✨Posture
✨ Belly Dancing Moves
✨ Traveling Steps
The goal of this series is to have fun and learn something new or practice an art you already know.
WHEN
This class is weekly from 5:30-6:30pm:
Class 1: Tuesday, July 9th
Class 2: Tuesday, July 16th
Class 3: Tuesday, July 23rd
Class 4:Tuesday, July 30th
MATERIALS
Students are not REQUIRED to bring anything;
✨ however, if you would like to bring a yoga mat for stretching, you are welcome to.
✨ Hip scarves are not required; however, students are welcome to bring theirs from home if they own them. Hip scarves will also be available for purchase as well.
STUDENTS
This class is ideal for those 13 and older.
INSTRUCTOR
Tracy Henderson has been belly dancing for 10 years and is a member of Tanasi Fusion, a fusion belly dance troupe based in Chattanooga, TN that specializes in the modern Western form of belly dance. Tracy and the other members of Tanasi Fusion studied at Zanzibar Studio, Chattanooga’s first school of belly dance. The members of Tanasi Fusion have performed at a variety of events, from opening for Zoe Jake’s of Beats Antique to warming up the stage for the band Here Come The Mummies at The LEAF Festival. Tracy is excited to share her love for this form of dance with the community.
