Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic, breath-based practice of yoga. This Intro to Ashtanga class is designed for those brand new to yoga, new to Ashtanga yoga, or curious about our Mysore program at Sattva. We will start off with the basics, especially how to breathe as you move through your practice, and then we will work through the beginning portion of the Ashtanga practice. We practice Sun Salutations, and then move through the beginning portion of the Ashtanga practice that we call the "Fundamental" postures.
Ashtanga Yoga is a practice that is approachable and healing for all bodies, all levels, and all sizes. We will offer modifications for all postures so you can make the practice work specifically for you and your body. We will also help you understand what you might expect when you join our early morning "Mysore" classes.
