Intro to Aerial Arts Teaser Class

Welcome to the exciting world of aerial arts! Intro to Aerial Arts is a 90 min teaser class. Students will learn the basic vocabulary, conditioning and proper warm up, footlocks and the fundamentals to a step-climb. Students will also be introduced to inversion through the sling or hammock and will walk away with a sense of pride, a few new moves and a taste of what aerial arts has to offer.

NOTE: This class does not qualify as a prerequisite for level 1 classes. The 3-week Learn to Fly series is the full prerequisite.

Unless otherwise noted, all Coil classes have a minimum age of 14.

What to Wear/Bring: Bring a water bottle! Please tie back long hair. Fingernails should be trimmed short to avoid puncturing the silks. Please be prepared to remove all dangling jewelry, bracelets, watches and rings. Please wear athletic clothing that covers the backs of the knees and shirts ideally that cover the shoulders/arm pits. Form fitting is ideal as loose clothing can get caught in the folds of the silks and sling. Silks/Sling or Hammock "soft" apparatus can be rough on the skin and rub under arms or backs of knees. With practice, they provide incredible support to make incredible shapes and movements.
