Learn to distinguish coaching from mentoring, counselling, and advising so you can apply the right approach in the right context. We’ll introduce you to the GROW model, a powerful framework for setting and achieving goals, and guide you through its practical application. But it’s not just about theory. This course provides the opportunity to practise your new skills in a supportive environment. The objectives of this session are:
- Meet other people working and volunteering in Knowle West
- Understand the key principles of coaching
- Begin to develop key coaching skills
- Understand the GROW Coaching Model
- Be introduced to when and where to apply coaching skills
- Have a chance to practise
Topics covered during the session include: What is coaching? The GROW Coaching Model. Goal setting. Key coaching skills including listening, questioning, using silence and building rapport.

Please arrive for a prompt 9.30am start & welcome, 9.45am-12.45pm facilitated session, 12:45-1.15pm feedback & networking.
