Into The Vines #10 returns with another packed Line-Up for our September event and this time we're also calling for the Wine Bar/Pub Dogs of Collingwood to pop in!
You'll be drooling with over 28 wines on pour featuring locally made traditional classic and lo-fi wineries from across Victoria and discover some incredible imports from small Latin American producers.
There's a Cheese and Wine Pairing Masterclass hosted by Jay Bessel (because spring is platter season after all!) and a Pop Up Dog Photography studio to capture our neighborhood's most social pups (in support of Pets of the Homeless) - the event is always a sell out- so to avoid disappointment book early!
Into The Vines brings together Melbourne Wine Lovers and introduces you to some of our favourite drops from Australia (Vic) and Latin America. It's a feast for the Epicurious- from traditional styles to funky lo-fi numbers to incredible international imports it's a great opportunity to meet the maker and support them directly learn the stories behind the wines and discover wines often only available on-premise.
Each of the wineries has been carefully chosen by the Tracado team who host the event and come recommended by fellow winemakers sommeliers and restaurants who have worked with them directly.
On arrival you'll be given a tasting card a glass and an introduction to all of the importers. Then you will be invited to move through the room discovering and purchasing the wines - it's a great way to stock up and save with lots of great offers by buying direct.
Winemakers this time include:
- Defialy (VIC)
- Bandicoot Run (Gippsland)
- WOCA (Latin America)
- Empire Of Dirt (Geelong)
- Save Our Souls Wines (VIC)
The masterclass will be facilitated by wine expert Jay Bessel who is highly regarded and sought after for curating wine lists in many of Melbourne’s finest dining establishments and training their staff together with Cheesemongers RIPE Cheese from the Queen Vic Market. He will be teaching you how to pair and choose wines to accompany your cheese platter - and what matters. It will incorporate one wine from each of our winemakers in the class so it's a great way to discover even more wines in depth.
We will also welcome Mica Benitez of Mica Chocolate- who will be selling and sharing her exquisite handmade chocolate with us. Mica Benito is a chocolatier with over twenty years of experience in the chocolate industry. "When working with chocolate it is important to taste the product before it is sold making sure the flavours are balanced and the recipes were followed this is the most delicious way to eat chocolate fresh off the line. I realised that the customers don’t get this experience this is where the Choccy idea was born. Choccy bars are made in the week they are to be sold the nuts are freshly roasted the honeycomb made the day before it is to be mixed in with the chocolate and all our other ingredients are carefully cut and mixed so the customer can experience how the chocolate was meant to be eaten. Flavours are ever changing and evolving working with producers that are passionate about their products and combining them with chocolate to make delicious fresh chocolate."
