Innumerable sources note the exceptional burden first responders are under due to incessant exposure to stress and trauma. Sources also share that first responders, whose job it is to provide aid, rarely seek assistance of their own. The cheapest and most readily available aid for helping maintain mental health and wellness is writing. In this 1.5-hour workshop, Dr. Mitch James will teach you techniques of expressive writing that can aid in maintaining your mental health and wellness. These techniques and those like them are vaunted by the First Responder Project, the Therapeutic Writing Institute, The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Institute of Health.
