About this Event
Capitalist Valentine’s Holiday? No thank you.
Cozy, Creative, Communal Communication? Yes please!
Communication, and the sharing of one’s creative voice, is inherently intimate. In this workshop, we will be leaning into that intimacy, and learning how to communicate across art forms.
- Draw a picture while a voalist sings a love song.
- Recite a love poem while a movement artist improvises a dance.
- Write a story or bring some clay and mold a sculpture about a romantic photograph or painting.
- Alternate between singing a line of your song with a poet reciting a line of their spoken word.
- Alternate adding a layer to your collage with a dancer adding a layer to their movement phrase.
In this workshop, we invite you to lead with your love for an art form, not hesitation about the legimacy of your creative practice.
If you love to draw/paint/collage or are curious to draw/paint collage you are a visual artist. If you like to move or are curious to move, you’re a dancer. If you like poetry or are curious about poetry, you are a poet. If you like to sing or are curious to sing, you’re a dancer.
