Interwoven: Mad Hatter Tea Party for Two
Special Operation Forces Spouses are invited to join The Station Foundation for a mother/child Mad Hatter Tea Party for Two. While enjoying a morning brunch curated for meaningful one on one connection and quality conversation, participants will reap the cognitive benefits of imaginative play and curiosity.
Through this Interwoven program, participants will be introduced to strength spotting- identifying the unique character strengths within themselves and family members. Strength spotting cultivates an attitude of gratitude and shifts a family’s focus from negativity and complaining to what Dr. John Gottman refers to as Positive Sentiment Override. Positive Sentiment Override occurs when families Hunt for the Good in one another and consequently shift their perspective from a negative bias to one that is positive and compassionate. When families identify the character strengths within themselves and prioritize virtues in action, children mature with greater confidence, persistence, life satisfaction, healthier friendships, and manage stressful situations with perspective and emotional regulation.
