About this Event
Interwoven: Hand Building Ceramics Workshop - Wall Vase

Special Operations Forces Spouses are invited to join The Station Foundation for Interwoven: Hand Building Ceramics Workshop - Wall Vase at Cottonwood Center for the Arts. Make a unique and functional wall vase out of clay with local artist Dina Bredahl! She will teach you the ancient art of clay hand building as well as introduce techniques for coloring and decorating your art work. Vases will be kiln-fired after class and ready for you to pick up within two weeks in time to grace the walls of your home or to be given as a thoughtful handmade gift.
During this event, participants will be encouraged to fully immerse themselves in the therapeutic qualities of working with clay. Drawing awareness to one’s breath and the sensory input of hand building with clay will help participants feel grounded and present.
We are all creative in some way. We all have something we can share and offer to the world. Putting your ideas or your actual physical products into the world is a creative act that we tend to leave behind in our youth. Get back to your roots and remember your unique, expressive style while experiencing the joy of inspiration, the meditative calmness of clay hand building, and the thrill of seeing your final product.

New to Interwoven events with The Station? Welcome! Please note that our outStation Facilitator, Teah Fagins, will be in contact with you to share our mission and confirm your Special Operations Forces affiliation.

What to Expect:
Since our workshop falls on Earth day - April 22 we thought it would be a great idea to pick up flowers and leaves from nature ( or your own garden) and use them to imprint on your design. If you decide to do this, please bring your items at the time of the workshop. Otherwise, there will be plenty of options for you to choose from to make the piece uniquely yours.

  • Come in "play clothes" that you wouldn't mind getting dirty.
  • Bring your inspiration and come prepared to create.
  • No prior experience is required, and all materials are provided.

Please invite a friend within the Special Operations Community who is new to The Station to follow us on Eventbite and join the fun by learning mindful practices to improve self care.

We kindly request a cancellation notice no less than 48 hours prior to the event. Thank you for your consideration. If you need to cancel, text or call Teah Fagins at 404 641 4228.

Please review The Station Foundation's Agreement prior to registering. By completing registration for Interwoven: Hand Building Ceramics Workshop - Wall Vase, on Monday, April 22, 2024, you acknowledge that you have read and understand The Station Foundation's Agreement and will abide by all Rules and Regulations.
