About this Event

Interwoven: Family Book Club
Special Operations Forces Families are invited to join The Station's Family Book Club for a story book hour featuring A Bedtime for Bear for families with children (preschool through third grade). The benefits of storytime are not limited to cognitive development but are rather much deeper. Reading together has a monumental impact on social, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive development. It strengthens relationships, encourages healthy listening, and provides families with opportunities to discuss emotions and increase emotional fluency.

This special afternoon will help participants identify, label, and appreciate one’s own emotions and those of others, resulting in increased empathy and compassion. Families will explore and practice emotional regulation through age appropriate breathwork and a glitter sensory jar. Parents and children alike will benefit from this stress reducing opportunity to connect and spend quality time together.

New to Interwoven events with The Station? Welcome! Please note that our OutStation Facilitator, Kelly Fortmann, will be in contact with you to share our mission and confirm your Special Operations Forces affiliation.
