About this Event
Interwoven: Couples Ceramics and Rituals of Connection
Special Operation Forces Couples are invited to join The Station Foundation for a morning of meaningful connection through a curated ceramics workshop. Join us at Jars of Dust as we explore hand building and transform clay into a functional mug that reflects a part of ourselves. Even a light touch on a lump of clay leaves an imprint, and likewise our awareness of how we impact those around us is transformative, beautiful, and empowering. Step away from your busy schedule, slow down to appreciate the process, and enjoy this therapeutic workshop.
In his book The Intentional Family, author and sociologist William Doherty highlights the importance of couples creating rituals that are intentional and meaningful. Rituals of Connection can be created around significant, celebratory days such as birthdays and holidays to rituals around everyday living like your morning and evening routines. Creating these instances of shared meaning strengthen your relationship.
The mugs will serve as a tangible reminder to be intentional about your relationship with your spouse and get in the habit of spending quality time together, even if it is just for a few moments each day. Maybe you agree to wake up 30 minutes before the kids on the weekend to share a quiet cup of coffee before the Saturday hustle begins. Or perhaps you use your mugs to decompress together with a cup of herbal tea before bed. These Rituals of Connection will safeguard your friendship from the natural drift and strain that busy schedules place on relationships.
