Interwoven: 2 Part Equine Therapy for Couples and Family
The Station Foundation invites Special Operations Forces Families to participate in two sessions of equine therapy with our trusted partner, Trails of Purpose. For the first equine therapy session on Friday, October 18, couples will engage in a group discussion focusing on emotional regulation and obstacles to healthy communication. The Trails of Purpose (TOPS) staff will guide participants into deeper awareness of how one’s response or reaction to stress impacts others. Couples will first discuss obstacles to healthy communication; following that discussion, couples will gather in the round pen for groundwork with horses to further explore communication dynamics.
For the second equine therapy session on Friday, October 25, participating couples will bring their children (ages 3+) to attend with them. Led by TOPS staff, families will focus on their communication strengths and growth areas as they discuss how they work through challenging situations. Families will then work with horses in the round pen to reinforce the curriculum.
Through both of these equine experiences, participants will learn the importance of emotional self regulation, increase awareness of emotional flooding, enhance their communication skills, and experience the power of perspective taking. Participants will grow in emotional intelligence as individuals and as a family.

- By signing up for this event, you are committing to attending on both dates.
- Children must be three years of age.
- Please note that participants will not be riding horses during either program.
- No experience is necessary.
- Closed toe shoes are required.
When registering for an event, all required fields on the order form must be completed in entirety. Incomplete order forms will be cancelled. Thank you for your understanding and helping us ensure event security and the highest quality experience possible.
